Police officers assault & forcefully arrest nonresistant man
Two cops tackled and forcefully arrested a young man when he a bar in Bishop, CA was left with 3 girlfriends, one of which a driver. The women protested his arrest, stated that they were to leave and go home, but police took him into custody and threatened to do likewise for the women, if they do not go home. The young man had done nothing that a violent arrest justified. He was also from the bar (near the vehicle was light in the background), and he andhis friends walked alone in the dark alley toward their vehicle started by the time the officers race up to her. The officials have not identified the trouble to themselves, as the police, despite the darkness, nor do they have to be activated a siren or lights. Instead, they ran in the direction of the outgoing man and shouted at them to stop (she) has taken and inexplicably attacked the young man, placed him in a stranglehold, and threw him to the ground with enough force to dislocate his left arm on the shoulder . He waswith one arm in a sling for several weeks left, a bruised shoulder, a bruised face and a slight bruise in the shape of a boot mark on his back. The police press charges on him allegedly swung at an officer, presumably to justify his violent arrest. However, there are three witnesses and video recordings, ensure that he could do that. This is a small, rural community of 3500 people, so it is not really dangerous or anything. The only people we really fear are the cops, and this isa disgrace. Was Update: The stranglehold of the officers placed him in illegal (in the first seconds of the video here). It led also to his arm is dislocated due to the manner in which he fell, while in the choke hold. While it is justified to arrest someone for public intoxication (though) in this particular case, as he went out of its own power with a particular driver their car in a deserted street, it is not justified, a chokehold in all circumstances in California, use, and surenot for "public drunkenness" The arrest of a volatile topic. The officers are involved with Danny and Doug Nolan Mairs Bishop PD, and Sheriff Deputy Waterbury. I should note that Waterbury was very nice, some of the women and their families in the past, and they were initially happy to see him, until she noticed that he was simply there to assist the other officers in the attack . Update 2.0: The police and the prosecutors have responded to the allegations by presenting adistorted version of events (because they allegedly arrested him at the bar when he put a fight and refused to leave clearly wrong, because we were nowhere near the bar), and publication of his alleged criminal history, unrelated to the events had that night. The criminal record is an embarrassment, not only Braley, but an alleged "victim" of a few years ago, which I am sure that the media probably do not realize or consider. Here is an article about the incident, which is somewhatfull of inaccuracies (Inyo le version of events). For example, it is clear that we are not even close to the bar-it's where the car is parked in the background. I also think that it misrepresented me feel a bit like a woman, the scorn for "the local law enforcement agencies" - what a pretty general statement and is not quite right. I lived with a bishop policeman and his family at a time, and also have great respect for other officials in Inyo, including (ironically) Sheriff Lutze, who in my view agreat strategic thinker. Some of the worst people I know are in law enforcement, but that some of the best people I've met are. www.ksrw.sierrawave.net One final note: Braley had nothing to do with the attention of the media (apart from the fact that the unsuspecting subject). ----- 24th September 2007: The "resistance to state violence" and "attack on peace, an officer" have left accusations fall. Of course, there is little mention of this in the media, and pretty much emphasis on the alleged criminal history Braley(which is irrelevant).
